OVERVIEW:

The Business Travel Sales Manager is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with clients using outside solicitation and service to ensure we achieve our established transient room goals. Finding new business and retaining existing business are top priorities for this role as well handling on-site requests from clients for amenities, special requests and site visits.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Make 10 new outside sales calls per week and 5 outside service calls per week.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of key competitors and new hotels into the marketplace.
  • Promote the hotel and increase interest at networking events noting competitive advantages.
  • Ensure site visits are well organized and customized.
  • Maintain high level of knowledge in reference to our hotel offerings and services.
  • Ensure all negotiations and contracts comply with established hotel policies and procedures
  • Manager the RFP season each fall to set and negotiate rates with existing and new volume accounts by using Lanyon system.
  • Coordinate and drive events and activities (blitzes, site inspections and lunch meetings)
  • Design and work within a market plan. Maintain client/account file database according to hotel standards.
  • Plan and prepare appointments for sales trips, follow up in a timely manner.
  • Exceed solicitation and service call requirements to achieve individual sales goals.
  • Attend departmental and hotel meetings as required.
  • Entertain guests in outlets as necessary.
  • Attend designated after hours functions for the chambers.
  • Complete weekly sales reports, SMART Plan annually and projects as assigned.
  • Participate in the development of the annual sales and marketing plan.
  • Offer lateral service when called upon to assist the hotel team at large.
